Why I'm leaving the city (for a year)
Last spring, I was sitting in my office, staring at a spreadsheet, when I finally came to the 1 that I needed a change. I had been working for the same company for six years, and although the salary was good, I felt I wasn't really 2 any difference. So when I saw an advert for volunteers at a marine conservation centre in Portugal, I decided to send in an 3 straight away. To my surprise, they offered me a place within a week. My parents, however, were 4 from pleased. They 5 me to think it over carefully. 6 their doubts, I have made up my mind, and next month I'm packing my bags. I'm really 7 forward to the challenge.
Part 2: Open cloze (questions 8 to 13)

Part 3: Word formation (questions 14 to 19)
Lena writes to Marc after two weeks at the centre. Use the word in capitals to form a word that fits the gap.
